Jewish Student Leadership Conference Planning Underway

OVERVIEW

From February 17-20, 2006, two hundred Jewish college students from twenty colleges and universities from Southern California and beyond, will gather at The Alpert Jewish Community Center, in Long Beach, California for Jewlicious @ The Beach.2, a hip, eclectic conference on Jewish life and identity.

Weekend highlights include folk-jazz café, master challah baking, Friday Night Feast, Kiddush wine tasting, iMac Saloon, iPod listening lounge, WIFI, concerts, films, poker tournament, parties, dramatic Torah reading, fashion show and bazaar.

Speakers and presenters on Jews who rock, Jews in fashion, Jewish blogging, Jewish dating, Israel, social justice, Jewish diversity, pop-culture and spirituality.

Workshops include bronze casting, henna, dancing, fashion, organizing, food, and blogging.

On-line registration and begins December 15, 2005. Newly launched, JTB2.com, contains up-to-date conference info, links for registration, accommodations, and program. A series of short internet promotional films begin production in mid-December.

The conference is a program of Beach Hillel and SoCal Jewish Student Services, in partnership with Jewlicious.com, OC Hillel, The Alpert JCC, and Orange County Hillel Foundation. Conference affiliates include Hillel of the Inland Empire, and Hillel of Silicon Valley. Current sponsors include Mikes Coffee and Apple Computers.
