Discussion at Moishe House

Rabbi Drew speaking at the Moishe House in Orange County last week

Last week, SoCalJSS’ Rabbi Drew was the guest speaker at the Moishe House of Orange County, leading a discussion about interpersonal speech.  At the event on June 12th, entitled “Rabbi Drew and Brews”, Rabbi Drew led a discussion on a talmudic text regarding rabbinic advice on mean things not to say to people.*

“The rabbinic wisdom that our Talmudic sages offered us is not something that we should simply discard,” said Rabbi Drew.  “To bring our heritage to young adult Jews who are thirsting for such a connection is a tremendously powerful opportunity.”

“I think Rabbi Drew is a very fun and easy-going public speaker who was able to engage young Jews in their mid/late 20’s in an interesting discussion related to Jewish concepts,” said Jennifer Saar, a resident of Moishe House.  “I would love to host Rabbi Drew again very soon at the Moishe House because I felt that he brought a lot of interesting and new ideas to the table.”

Moishe House, according to their website, “Moishe House is an international organization providing meaningful Jewish experiences to young adults in their twenties. Our innovative model trains, supports and sponsors young Jewish leaders as they create vibrant home-based communities for their peers.”
