Rejewvenation 2012

Interested in learning about & discussing views within Judaism about the human body?  ReJewvenation 2012 will be taking place in January 2012.  This event will be taking place January 10, 11, & 12 in Southern California for young adults to come together and learn in Los Angeles, Irvine, Riverside and Long Beach. Amongst the activities will be a coffee gathering, two Lunch & Learns, visiting Judaica shops in Los Angeles, and more.

Beginning on Tuesday 10 January in Riverside, Rabbi Drew will be leading a discussion on Jews and Tattoos at 5pm at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at UCR.

Wednesday 11th’s events will be taking place in both Long Beach and Los Angeles:
– From 11:30-4:30 at the Alpert JCC, topics such as using the restroom, kosher eating, and drug use will be discussed, including a lunch-and-learn with Rabbi Abba Perelmuter.
– From there, an opportunity to caravan up to Los Angeles to check out some Judaica shops and enjoy kosher food will be accompanied by Rabbi Zalman Kravitz speaking.
– At night, the event returns to Long Beach for a Beer, Bible, and Baked Goods program on Sex.

The event concludes in Irvine on Thursday 12th at the Orange County Hillel from 11:00-4:30 with a lunch-and-learn with featured speaker Rabbi Shmuly Yanklowitz.

Discussions amongst young adults are an integral component of the event

Following up from last year’s Torah Winter Learning Event, Rejewvenation seeks to offer a variety of rabbis speaking upon a broad theme and offering it free to young adults, primarily, but not exclusively, university students.  For more information, please contact Rabbi Drew at RabbiDrew [at] SoCalJSS.org.
